Online I'm known as Shantari, although friends can call me Rebecka.
Age:
In my twenties. (I don't plan to update this section every once a year. : P)
Interests:
Most things. Like watching Discovery, The Simpsons, thinking way too much about different fandoms,
economy, languages (I'm a regular linguophile), Japan and most things connected to it, history,
mythology, astronomy, philosophying about pretty much everything between Heaven and Earth e.t.c.
Hobbies:
Reading, writing (both fanfiction and original work), doodling, daydreaming, watching TV, sometimes
knitting or baking even.
About the Site
Background:
It all started with me being new to the Harry Potter shipping fandom. I was already a fan of the
Harry/Hermione-relationship as I read it in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. At one point I read
of Harry/Luna as a possibility for canon, and wondered to myself what it was based on. Before I had read
OotP without any thought to shipping, so I decided to do some rereading. Harry/Luna didn't really
catch on to me, but what
did do so was Ron/Luna. It was interesting to reread the book with so much focus on Luna's scenes, and
Ron/Luna just spoke to me. And it immediately became my One True Pairing.
Now fimly invested in Ron/Luna, I went around looking for sites that were supportive of it. Though I
found several Harry/Hermione-sites that supported Ron/Luna, I couldn't find a completely dedicated
Ron/Luna-site. So I decided to make my own. A Real Life-friend of mine had given me links to his personal
site that he had done on freewebs.com. From there I found how I could make my own freewebs-site, and as
it seemed very simplified and nice for a newbie like myself, that's where I created CHSN in its first
incarnation.
At first, it was simply called Ron and Luna, if memory serves me right. It was a little while after that I
decided that it needed a more distinctive name. I was thinking of The Burrow, and wanted a Luna-twist on
that. Then I came to think of Crumple-Horned Snorkacks, and Lovers' Nest, as this was going to be Ron
and Luna's lovenest. Merged together we had The Crumple-Horned Snorkacks Nest, or CHSN as I refer to it
out of laziness/fondness.
After having decided on a name, I went and got an e-mail adress for the site, so that people could contact
me without me having to leave out any personal adress. Looking at other sites, I decided to get a
yahoo-adress. Then when I got the e-mail adress, I found out I could use it as a site-adress. Being lazy
though, I kept things at freewebs, because at freewebs I could use a ready-made site-template that looked
great for the ship. Going to geocities would have to mean making my own template. After having had
my fair share of troubles with freewebs, I decided that it was worth the toil. So I went and made my
first very own layout. Yes, it's quite the lazy newbie-work.
